The Closet

The Closet provides clothing, shoes, household items, linens, school supplies and diapers. In addition, personal care items such as soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, deodorant and shampoo are also available. Furniture and appliances are available as donations are received and needs made known.

Clients visiting The Closet have received over $92,000 in clothing and $15,000 in toiletries since its doors opened.

Trained volunteers at The Closet develop relationships and share the Gospel with those who come for assistance. The Closet’s greatest achievement is pointing individuals to Jesus.

Fall and Winter clothing is available October through March. Spring and Summer clothing is available April through September. All clothing is provided free of charge.

During the school year The Closet is not open when school closes due to poor weather conditions. The Closet is not open on holidays.

The Pantry

The Pantry works in cooperation with The Closet and Dare to Care. Dare to Care provides food on a weekly basis to individuals and families in need. USDA Food Boxes are available to individuals and families on a monthly basis. Clients visiting The Pantry in 2014 received over 509,000 pounds of food.


The Multi-Housing Ministry helps individuals and families in need of housing by connecting them with agencies that provide financial assistance with rent. Additional support includes transportation and financial assistance with court/attorney fees, car repairs and gasoline.

Prison Release Ministry

Mission Crestwood provides clothing, personal care items and food for individuals who leave prison to live at either the McCauley House or Wright House. The Prison Release Ministry works in collaboration with Prodigal Ministries and also with the Oldham County Court System.


Families, who are identified throughout the year, receive boxes with everything needed for their Thanksgiving meal. Included in each box is a turkey, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, gravy, macaroni and cheese and dessert. In 2014, Thanksgiving boxes were filled and distributed to 350 families.


Children are identified when they visit The Closet or The Pantry with their families. Help from community supporters such as AT&T and Crestwood Baptist Church make it possible for 100’s of children to receive toys each Christmas. In 2014, over 400 children received toys through The Christmas Store.


Lydia’s Ladies assists Oldham County High School girls preparing for prom. Dresses, shoes, purses and jewelry are made available to the young women in collaboration with The Clothing Boutique.
